FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How long are appointments?
A: Initial consultations are 40-60 minutes. Follow-up appointments typically range from 15-45 minutes depending on your treatment needs, combining medication management with therapy.
Q: How often will I need to come?
A: Initially, we usually meet every 2-4 weeks as we establish treatment. Once you're stable, appointment frequency is adjusted based on your needs - anywhere between one and three months.
Q: Do you prescribe controlled substances?
A: Yes, when clinically appropriate. We prescribe in a judicious way - we do so thoughtfully and with clear treatment agreements and goals.
Q: What if I don't think medication is right for me?
A: That's a conversation we'll have together. Sometimes medication is essential; sometimes it's optional; sometimes therapy alone is sufficient. Your preferences matter, and we'll discuss the evidence for different approaches to your particular situation.
Q: What's your cancellation policy?
A: Cancellations 24 hours or more prior to your scheduled appointment will not be billed. Just as long as you contact the clinic by phone, email, or direct messaging.
Q: Can my family be involved in treatment?
A: For patients, 15-17 yeas of age, family involvement is important and encouraged - at the least, all consents must be obtained by an adult guardian. For adults, we can include family members with your consent when it supports your treatment goals.
